FOR MAYOR
Meet Barbara
Together.
Let's build the Mobile that we all deserve.
I’m Barbara Drummond, and I’m running for Mayor of Mobile because I believe leadership is about service – not self-interest. I’ve spent my entire life here in Mobile, and I’ve devoted my career to making our city stronger, fairer, and more connected for everyone who calls it home.
Working for all Mobilians
I started as a journalist at the Mobile Register, where I spent over two decades shining a light on the issues that mattered most to our community. That same commitment to truth and accountability led me into public service – first at the Mobile County Commission, and then as Executive Director of Administrative Services and Community Affairs for the City of Mobile. I helped create Mobile 311 to give residents better access to services, launched our city’s first “Moon Pie Over Mobile” New Year’s Eve celebration, and was proud to be part of the team that helped recruit Airbus to Mobile.
Since 2014, I’ve served as State Representative for District 103. In the Legislature, I’ve worked across the aisle to fund education, clean up blight, improve public health, and create economic opportunity – especially for women and minority-owned businesses. I currently serve as Chair of the House Democratic Caucus and Chair of the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System Board, and I’m proud to be involved with organizations like the United Way and the Community Foundation of South Alabama.
Everything I’ve done – whether in government, journalism, or the community – has been rooted in a belief that every person deserves a voice and every neighborhood deserves investment. I’m running for Mayor to bring that same approach to City Hall: transparent, inclusive, and focused on real results.
Let’s move Mobile forward – together.
We’re Headed to a Runoff
On August 26, voters across Mobile made their voices heard — and I’m honored to have finished first in the mayoral election. Now, we’re heading to a runoff on September 23, and the work isn’t done yet.
This campaign has always been about building a Mobile that works for everyone. To do that, we need you with us in this final stretch. Whether it’s voting, volunteering, or donating — every action moves us closer to the city we believe in.
Election Day: September 23
Every vote matters. Every neighborhood counts.
